Charlotte Fitness Company Looks to Set Guinness World Record for Largest International Simultaneous Fitness Boot Camp Workout

American Heart Association to Benefit from Fun Fitness Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Jason Rhymer, 704-661-5301

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It’s no secret that the month of January is the time of year when people are most motivated to engage in an intensive exercise regimen to improve their overall health, performance, and body composition.

To capture that momentum, Rhymer Fitness will serve as a local host for the first ever Workout Worldwide on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11 am at Carolina Courts in Indian Trail, NC. The event looks to set the Guinness world record for the “largest international simultaneous fitness boot camp workout” with all net proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association. To pre-register and learn more about this event, please visit http://www.workoutworldwide.org/locations/nc-cha, or email Jason Rhymer- Jason@rhymerfitness.com.

“Starting with Thanksgiving and ending with the countdown to the New Year, most people tend to gain five to 10 pounds due to a daily 500-1,000 calorie surplus,” Jason Rhymer, president of Rhymer Fitness said. “This stems from a lack of exercise and/or an increase in food intake due to the stresses and celebrations of the Holiday season.”

Workout Worldwide seeks to help those who fell off the wagon during the holidays get back on track in 2010. The workout will feature a time and space-efficient total body weight loss workout to provide a jump-start to one’s New Year fitness resolutions- a fitness program catering to busy professionals that can easily be continued in the days, weeks, and months to come. There will be 50 other boot camps around the world raising money for their local heart foundations at the same time on January 9.

“Besides having the opportunity to be a part of a world record event, there are lots of other cool prizes that will be provided to attendees including trial memberships to our local fitness boot camps, and discounts for various fitness equipment and nutritional supplements,” Rhymer said. “If you love fitness, you’d be crazy not to attend.”

Local businesses who make a $500 donation will earn their employees free access to the event in their area and will also receive a complimentary fitness lunch and learn and be put into a raffle to win free corporate fitness boot camp training sessions on-site at their facility.

12 Days of Fitness

Friday, December 25th, 2009

“On the First Day of Fitness, my trainer said to me:  Do a burpee!

On the Second Day of Fitness, my trainer said to me: 2 Turkish Get-ups and one burpee!

On the Third Day of Fitness, my trainer said to me: 3 Fireman pulls, 2 Turkish Get-ups, and one burpee!”

Are you singing the tune?  I hope so!  Merry Christmas to everyone!  This is a deceivingly tough bootcamp workout I have been doing with clients that only takes a kettlebell or dumbbell and a few bands.

To save time and space, here are the rest of the “days”:

4th Day = Pistols

5th Day = Push-ups

6th Day = Lunges (3 with each leg)

7th Day = Band or Bell shoulder press

8th Day = Kettlebell swings

9th Day = Jumping Jacks

10th Day = One-arm rows (5 each side)

11th Day = RDLs

12th Day = 12 biceps + 12 triceps

By the way, Fireman pulls are with 3 thick bands, hand-over-hand pulling and the Turkish Get-ups are just one on each side.

Have fun with this and let me know what you think!

Merry Christmas!

Free Knee Health Workshop - This Sunday!

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

If you are playing or training (or even just living ;) with knee pain…mark your calendar for this Sunday (12/13) from 5-6:30 at Carolina Courts.  We will have a FREE workshop on how to end knee pain forever.  I know…this sounds like a lofty goal, but we are going for it!  And we have a system that hasn’t failed us yet.

This fall, we applied these drills and joint movements to some of the best young basketball prospects in North and South Carolina.  The results were amazing and by the end of the weekend, we had a line out the door waiting to work with us.  Bobby and I talked about it and realize that one of the things that seperate his speed, agility, and jump programs from the rest is the emphasis on pain-free motion.  Most coaches have to refer this out to PTs or other health professionals (or even worse, just ignore it!) For us, this is a vital part of our program.

This Sunday, we will give you all of the information to get your knees to work for you, not against you.  Expect to move around a little bit and get blown away by how much better you feel.

If you can make it, please send a quick email to jason@rhymerfitness.com or call 704-661-5301 to confirm your spot for the workshop.  If you need directions to Carolina Courts, click HERE.

Live with Strength,

Jason

Rhymer Fitness Launches Volo!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

A title for this post that applies to training could be “Don’t Let Life Get in the Way of Your Passion”.  Today, we launched a new online billing and scheduling system for our clients with Volo Innovations.  This has taken a few months to get going, but I am very excited about how this will streamline our business so that Bobby and I can focus on what we do best…leading  cutting-edge fitness bootcamps and private training sessions.

I can now share with you the burdens from the last several months and why this is so cool for our clients.  I have been stuck in a battle that is depicted in the classic business book called “The E Myth” by Michael Gerber.  He makes an argument that every independent business owner is part entrepreneur, manager, and technician.  Basically, we need to be have the dreams, be able to organize it, but also get the work done.  I am a strong entrepreneur, and a very good technician (in my case, the work is the daily training sessions with my clients).  I am a lousy manager.  But all three are important for a business to thrive.

Implementing Volo instantly makes me a better manager and frees up a ton of time to do what I really love…taking care of my clients and coming up with creative fitness programs.  I can also do more speaking engagements and article writing and just offer better services to our awesome clients who deserve the best.

In fact, honestly to me the fitness part is secondary to the relationship.  I don’t know how many trainers pray for their clients and think about them on vacation, but I often feel like fitness has been my way to just have some great people in my life.  When I can’t nurture that relationship, I get very frustrated.  I have been stuck in manager mode.  My life had got in the way of my passion.  But now I am ready to make 2010 our best year in terms of over-delivering to our clients for all of their fitness, nutritional, pain-relief, and weight loss goals.

Big things are coming up like a free knee health workshop on Dec. 13 and a HUGE bootcamp on Jan.9 with other locations around the world that might land us in the Guiness Book of World Records!  More info to come, but for now, thank you to all of our clients and friends for supporting this change in our business.

Live with Strength!
